SC — SHOT Clubhouse — Proud Member
SHOT Clubhouse is a proud member of the United Nations Football for the Goals initiative — a global platform leveraging the power and reach of football to advance the Sustainable Development Goals and drive real change across the sport.
Launched on 6 July 2022, Football for the Goals is a United Nations initiative led by the Department of Global Communications. It provides a platform for the global football community — confederations, national associations, leagues, clubs, players, fans, and commercial partners — to engage with and advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
With over 370 members from more than 120 countries, including all six FIFA confederations, the initiative taps into the global reach of football — the world’s most popular sport — to raise the profile of the SDGs and drive behavioural change and sustainable practices across the industry.
Every member of Football for the Goals commits to four core principles that drive sustainable change across football.
A commitment to sustainability policies and practices, and to advocating for and implementing the Sustainable Development Goals across all operations.
A commitment to a human rights-based approach, including addressing issues of discrimination and avoiding discriminatory practices in all activities.
A commitment to promoting equality and equity, including gender equality, ensuring football is a platform for inclusion at every level.
A commitment to climate action — reducing the environmental footprint of football and using the sport’s influence to inspire sustainable behaviour worldwide.
“Being part of Football for the Goals isn’t a badge we hang on a wall. It’s a framework that holds us accountable. Every feature we build, every grassroots organisation we support — it connects back to real outcomes for real communities.”

Founder & CEO, SHOT Clubhouse
Football for the Goals supports all 17 SDGs. Here are the goals most directly advanced through SHOT Clubhouse and the grassroots football community.
Football drives physical activity and mental well-being across communities. SHOT tracks the health impact of every session.
Structured coaching frameworks and development pathways mirror educational best practice, building skills on and off the pitch.
Promoting women’s football, female coaching pathways, and equal access to development tools and opportunities.
Grassroots football reaches underserved communities. SHOT’s grant programmes prioritise the most deprived areas.
Football clubs are community anchors. Supporting them strengthens local social infrastructure and cohesion.
Reducing the environmental impact of football operations and using the sport’s platform to inspire sustainable behaviour.
Football unites people across borders, cultures, and backgrounds — building peace through shared purpose and fair play.
Cross-sector collaboration between the UN, SHOT, confederations, clubs, and grassroots organisations to drive collective impact.
As a member of Football for the Goals, here’s how SHOT Clubhouse actively advances the SDGs through technology and grassroots sport.
Our athlete development platform creates structured, evidence-based pathways — advancing SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 3 (Good Health) through every session tracked.
Culture and community tools that connect clubs with their communities — driving SDG 11 (Sustainable Communities) and SDG 16 (Peace & Justice).
Content and media management that gives every organisation a voice — supporting SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by levelling the playing field for grassroots clubs.
Our flagship Power of Six grant programme puts Football for the Goals into practice — giving 72 grassroots organisations free access to SHOT Clubhouse for 6 years, directly advancing SDGs 3, 4, 5, 10, and 17 across 6 UK regions.

Football for the Goals is a United Nations initiative launched in July 2022, led by the UN Department of Global Communications. It provides a platform for the global football community to engage with and advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals. Members commit to sustainability, human rights, equality, and climate action.
SHOT Clubhouse joined Football for the Goals because our mission is fundamentally aligned with the SDGs. We build technology that makes grassroots sport more accessible, measurable, and impactful. Through our PERFORM, PULSE, and LOCKER platforms, and our Power of Six grant programme, we advance goals around health, education, equality, and community development every day.
Being part of FFTG connects SHOT’s grassroots network to a global movement. It means the data and evidence gathered through SHOT Clubhouse contributes to a larger story about grassroots sport’s role in sustainable development. It also strengthens funding applications and credibility when clubs can demonstrate alignment with UN frameworks.
No. While major confederations and professional leagues are members, Football for the Goals explicitly welcomes grassroots organisations, community clubs, fan groups, and any entity active in football. SHOT Clubhouse represents the grassroots voice within this initiative.
The SDGs are 17 interconnected global goals adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure peace and prosperity for all by 2030. They cover everything from health and education to climate action and partnerships.
Whether you’re a grassroots club looking for development tools or an organisation wanting to align with the SDGs, SHOT Clubhouse can help.
